He also participated as an Eminent Speaker in the Roundtable Panel Discussion on “ The Rise of Socio-Emotional Learning and Cultural Competence” in which various Vice-Chancellors and Directors participated. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Bakhshi said that the the development of social and emotional skills besides mental skills is essential for an all-round growth of the learners. He felt that in India we mainly focus on cognitive skills as a result of which other skills often get neglected and that leads to a lop-sided personality. The development of social and emotional skills helps in improving the attitude, behaviour and performance of the students with special reference to academic success, lowering of stress levels, getting rid of frustration and prevention of violence etc.

On this occasion, PDM University was also honoured and recognised for Valuable and Exemplary contribution to the Education Community.
