The Annual Sports Day Of PDMU Celebrated

ENTHUSIASTIC DISPLAY OF SKILLS BY PDM STUDENTS

The Annual Sports Day of PDM University was held in grace and style with a good number of students from all the faculties participating in various games including Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Table Tennis & Athletic events like High Jump, Long Jump, Shot-put, & Fun Filled Matka Race. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. K. Bakhshi was the chief guest & Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. R. C. Bhattacharjee, the guest of honor. Akshay of Computer Science Engineering and Dental student Savita were declared Best Athletes on account of their all round performance in the various athletic events.

After formal inauguration by the V.C., the event commenced with a impressive and well coordinated march-past by marching contingents from each faculty, giving a enthusiastic colour to the proceedings. The perfectly synchronized students in the contingents evinced confidence,  determination and fortitude.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Bakhshi said that sports & cultural events have always been a success at PDM. These type of competitive activities bring forth the grit, determination, sportsmanship, leadership & other virtues of the students. The ceremony witnessed the facilitation of over two hundred students for their exemplary display of sportsmanship & skills by the V.C., Prof. A.K. Bakhshi & Pro V.C. Prof. R.C. Bhattacharjee.

The Deans of various faculties & senior officers of the University along with staff members and students were present on the occasion in considerable strength.
