Department of Mechanical Engineering came into being in the year 1999 and the first batch of Mechanical Engineers graduated in the year 2003. At present it offers Mechanical Engineering programs at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. We aim to provide our students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs. The department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty. The Department has laboratory and workshop facilities with state-of-the-art equipment to carry out research in all areas related to Mechanical and Production & Industrial Engineering.

Civil engineering is one of the oldest of the engineering professions and core branch that deals with the analysis, design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Civil engineers are problem solvers, involved in the design and construction of useful facilities for the human beings including bridges, tall buildings and other structures, dams and reservoirs, water supply and sewage disposal systems, power stations, ports, offshore structures and transport systems.

The Civil Engineering department at PDM University is one of its kinds in the region, which provides not only quality education, but also an excellent research environment through its Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. We use a variety of innovative teaching methods, including lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, field courses and project work. Our teaching aims to present fundamentals and their application within the context of engineering design and construction, with regard to economy, safety, quality, sustainability and the environment.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has been offering an undergraduate course (B.Tech.) since 1999 and Postgraduate course (M.Tech.) since 2008 by the approval of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Since its commencement, the department is focused on producing engineers with knowledge of design, analysis & application of electronics and communication systems and its allied areas. The Department has well qualified and experienced faculty members dedicated to provide high quality education to the students to make them ready to compete in today’s environment.  The department is well equipped with high class laboratories like Optical Communication, Satellite Communication, Digital Electronics, PCB design Lab, Communication Lab etc. which helps the students to design and implement whatever they used to learn in theory classes.
