National Technology Day was celebrated on 10th May 2017 by P.D.M College of Engineering, Bahadurgarh on a very contemporary theme – ‘Importance of digital competency for graduates’. The event was sponsored by Haryana State Council for Science and Technology, Panchkula, Haryana and PDM religious and
educational Association,Bahadurgarh Haryana. The celebration started with the welcome of Chief and KeyNote speaker, Guest Prof. R. S. Chhillar, Head,
Department of Computer Science and Applications, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
On the occasion,The Pro-vice chancellor of PDM University and Director of PDM college of Engineering, Prof. R. C. Bhattacharjee outlined the importance
of digital technology in making the day to day working smoother and faster. He further emphasised the demand and utility of digital technology in the coming
future. He also discussed how the India is advancing in the field of information technology and promotion of computers in the rural areas.
The keynote speaker of the day Prof. R. S. Chhillar congratulated the students and faculty coordinators of this event for organizing this event which was
widely attended by technology savvy students. He shared his experiences over the digital literacy in India and abroad. He focuses on data warehousing and
data mining as the whole operations will be totally based on this in future, because upcoming technology “Internet of Things” will totally change the life
style of everyone, so one should put his efforts to remain in touch with the technology. He motivated the students to bring quality in education and to be
more focused on learning process. His words make spellbound to everyone. The audience applauded many times during his speech.
The celebration continued with the Quiz Competition with the theme of Digital Competency. There were cash prizes for the winners with Rs 2000 for 1position, Rs1500 for 2nd position and Rs 1000 for 3rd position. There were seven teams with four member each from CSE, CE, ME, and ECE branches. The

When the team gave wrong answers the questions passed to audience, and consolation prizes were kept for the students answering right to these questions.
It was an exciting experience for the participants as well as the audience to be a part of this Quiz Competition.
The Result of Quiz Competition with 1st position Team 3 Zenith, 2nd position Team 1 Dawn and 3rd position Team 6 Zensor were rewarded with cash prizes
and Certificates by Chief Guest Prof. R. S. Chhillar and Director of PDMCE Prof.R. C. Bhattacharjee.
The Coordinator of this event Mr. Gurmeet Singh proposed vote of thanks to the management P.D.M.R.E.A Bahadurgarh, Director PDMCE, Chief Guest Prof. R.S. Chhillar, all Heads of Departments, all team coordinators, participants and students for making this event successful. A special thanks to Haryana State
