EVENT REPORT
A one day Training-cum-Seminar Programme on “Role of women entrepreneurs in Agriculture” was organized by Dr. Priyanka Mishra, Assistant Professor, department of Agriculture in the seminar hall of the PDM University, Bahadurgarh. The programme was organized exclusively for women farmers to promote and encourage them in the agriculture field. The women farmers of Bahadurgarh and Jhajjar district participated very enthusiastically in the programme. The programme was inaugurated by honorable vice-chancellor, Dr. (Prof.) A.K. Bakhshi and Pro vice-chancellor, Dr. Ishwar Singh.
During his dialogue, The Vice chancellor emphasized the role and importance of women entrepreneurship in agriculture. In its first phase, the programme was led by Dr. Saurabh Tripathi, Scientist, KRDC (A unit of Crystal Crop Protection Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi). In his lecture, he talked about importance of entrepreneurship of women in agriculture and how they can start a small scale industry on their own. He also explained elegantly about the methods of development of bio fertilizers, mushroom production and nursery production.
The second phase of the programme was headed by Mr. P. K. Pandey, National Head (vegetable crop), Crystal Crop Protection Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. He explained in detail the procedure of starting a small scale industry, marketing strategies and extension.
In the end of the training-cum-seminar programme a quiz competition was organized in which the questions related to chemical and biological control of pests, fertilizers, manures, agricultural implements, small industries, animal husbandary and other agricultural procedures were asked. The women farmers very actively participated in the questionnaire session in which together with Smt. Babita (Bahaduragrh), Smt Anita (Bahadurgarh), Smt. Monika (Bahaduragrh), total fifteen women farmers were awarded by honorable Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor.
From the side of women farmers, Mrs. Babita presented her gratitude towards all Guests and Professors for such a successful event. At the end of the training-cum-seminar programme, the Vice chancellor congratulated for successfully completing the programme and encouraged for organizing such programs in near future also.
