Dr. Surender Kumar Sharma joined PDM University as Professor of Pharmacy on 06/08/2018 & on 04/10/2022 he was appointed as Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Dr. Sharma has vast Teaching, Research and Administrative experience of more than 35 years. He has served R & D Division of Ranbaxy Labs Ltd as Research Associate, Hindu College of Pharmacy as Lecturer & Sr. Lecturer, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Pharmacy as Reader, Professor, HOD and Director, Principal at SGT College of Pharmacy, SGT University & Professor at Lovely Professional University prior to this assignment.
Dr. Sharma takes active part in professional activities and is a life member of Professional associations like IPA, IPGA, IHPA, IABMS etc.
Dr. S. K. Sharma passed Higher Secondary from CBSE Delhi, D. Pharmacy & B. Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy (DIPSAR & DPSRU at present), M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) from Panjab University, Chandigarh & Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Devi Ahilya University Indore. He also has done Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing & Sales Management from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi.
Research interests of Dr. Sharma include Drug Design, QSAR, Synthesis & Biological evaluation of Nanoparticles used in targeted Drug Delivery. Synthesis & Biological evaluaton of Nanoparticles used in targeted Drug Delivery Systems. He is approved co-supervisor of Ph. D scholars at department of Chemistry, University of Delhi. Two Scholars have been awarded their Ph.D. degrees under his co-supervision. He has published Research papers and review articles in National and International peer reviewed journals. He has validated a chapter on “Thermodynamics” for National Science Digital Library (NSDL), CSIR. He has chaired & co chaired scientific sessions and has been Resource person & poster evaluator in National & International Conferences. He has delivered Lectures on various topics related to Modern Analytical Techniques at Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal (MP) and had been member Task force Committee of central council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) for Standardization of drugs. He had been member of board of studies of MD University Rohtak & Special invitee member of BOS of GGSIP University & member of governing body & other committees of MSIP New Delhi. He had been editorial chairman of MSIP magazine & newsletter & chairman of BOS, Institutional animal ethics committee of MSIP & college of pharmacy, SGT university.
Apart form academics Dr. Sharma is fond of sports also. He had been captain of volleyball teams at college & university level.
