Save Environment Save Life Campaign at PDM University
“Save Environment Save Life”- a clean and green campaign was launched at a function held at PDM University on 20th September 2018. Prof. A.K. Bakhshi, Vice Chancellor, PDM University was the chief guest at the function which was attended amongst others by Mr. Jag Niwas, SDM, Bahadurgarh, Mr. Satender Dahiya, member, legal cell committee, Dr. A.S. Dhindwal, Dean Agriculture, Dr. Hema Chaudhary, Dean, Pharmaceuticals Sciences & Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. M.E. Haider Dean, Education, Dr. B.P. Singh Dean, Law and Mr. Deepak (Forest Department, Bahadurgarh).
More than 120 students also attended the event. Trees were planted by Prof. Bakhshi and Mr. Jag Niwas on this occasion.
Addressing the audience Prof Bakhshi highlighted the importance of environment protection and the role of clean environment on human health. He motivated the students to keep the environment including air, soil and water pollution free. He said that if we don’t kill pollution, pollution will kill us.
Mr. Jag Niwas, SDM, Bahadurgarh who presided over the function enlightened the audience with the role of trees in human life and appealed the entire community especially the students to plant more and more trees in their surroundings including common places, parks etc. Mr. Satender Dahiya, member, legal cell committee explained the five main objectives of this type of campaign. He stressed on avoiding the use of plastics and stressed on community participation in keeping our surroundings clean.
Dr. A.S. Dhindwal, Dean Agriculture briefed the role of agriculture and agriculturist in sustaining the environment for future generations. He also delivered the vote of thanks.
